Happy Father's Day!

My children are celebrating Father's Day by
having dinner with him.
I like that...
No. 1 even lead worship with emphasis on the
love of our heavenly Father.
I like that even more.

God has been a wonderful Father to us.
To me and the girls.

One of the songs she chose,
which I love very much is called

Your Favourite Name is Father

So, to all the fathers out there, here's one for you.

Your Favourite Name is Father by Newsong 2003

Almighty God
Lord of all creation
Ancient of days
The Holy One
So many names You've given us to call You
But one remains
Your favorite name

[Chorus]
Your favorite name is Father
You love to hear Your children calling
You're there to catch us when we're falling
Your favorite name is Father

Eternal King
Alpha and Omega
Jehovah God
The mighty One
So many names You've given us to call You
But one remains
Your favorite name

[Chorus]
Your favorite name is Father
You love to hear Your children calling
You're there to catch us when we're falling
Your favorite name is Father

[Bridge]
Abba Father
Holy is Your name
Abba Father

Holy is Your name

Happy Father's Day

27 November 2009

We are actually leaving for HK!!!

It was great to wake up knowing there was hardly anything needed doing / packing as we had done most of that the night before.

So, we dwaddled and did one more load of laundry, tidied up the house and cuddled the cats (although not enough was done)....

In the end, yup... we still had to cab it to the airport and got there too early to check in. After meeting with Victor, we decided to have some lunch at Popeye's before getting checked in.

God is good. Due to the fullness of flight, our hand carry luggage was checked into the plane right at the boarding gate, so we did not have to carry it in, making our boarding rather a breeze. =)))

Arriving at HK is really rather exciting. This is the first time we visit HK without my mother around, not even as our tour guide.

It makes our trip more 'free and easy' but definitely a lot more challenging. HK has changed so much. Anyway, we took a long time to look for the guide who was supposed to pick us up and send us to the hotel. The airport was so huge, we took some time before we can find the meeting point, by then, we missed one bus. Then we went to the toilet, had a coffee, and waited for the guide - at the wrong place, and missed the bus again... in all, we were only able to get on the bus at 9.15 and get to the hotel by about 10 pm...

But, Hong Kong being the city that never sleeps, we were able to find some place for chow down about 10.30 and walked along Temple Street night market. Yes we did our first bit of shopping within hrs of landing...

We had some
great time this trip
Los Angeles,
San Francisco
Dad's birthday
Visiting UCI

The girls watched
2 shows they can
Proudly say
They'd watched them
Before they are even
Shown in Singapore!

This times
We spent with
More abandonment
Helping the economy
as one of my cousins said

Managed to get some
great bargains
& sales stuff...

Happy to have met up
with my aunt, uncle
their eldest son
whom I had never met
their 2nd youngest son
who lives in San Francisco

All in all
a great rewarding trip
Totally gratifying
Despite one single
Incident...

Anyway, here are some photos!

We are going to Frisco
in about 9 hours' time.
Can't wait!

Everyone has been warning us
About the cold weather there
How it would be colder than LA

Strange that it may sound
Although the 3 of us....
Wait,
There are always the 3 of us
Yet,
We can't wait to have
Our 'alone' time again...
Seriously..

Anyway, major shopping today!!!!!!
at Beverley Hills no less...
(nod approvingly to self)

Totally indulged myself
Bought stuff that
I don't normally buy,
at least not at the
Price I paid anyway

There is a 'spirit' of abandonment
of 'heck-it-for-once'
So I bought
'Designers' stuff @ so-called sales prices
Even undergarments
@ $7 per piece
That's over $10 each...

Blimme...
I must be still
B****y drugged
Outta my mind....

Well, might get
Better buys in
San Francisco

Will I live till 85??
Will I live till 85?
Do I want to live to 85 and beyond?
That's a 6 million dollar question for me
or for the general public....

Hmmmm...... we age!
Yes By jove we age,
like it or not..
and age costs!

Not just the dentures,
nor the cataract operations and
all the ills associated with
being old and senile
or aged and active
And the government is doing

something about us living on
way beyond the average age of what? 77?
Good on them!

Does it matter
if we put aside a small sum
that in the end we might never
get to use?

What if we did manage to
live up to 85?
What are we going to do?
Check ourselves into
a home for the destitute
because we ran out of money?

For everyone who has qualms
about putting money aside
for the golden years
Please remember
it could be you
or your loved ones.

I advocate saving from young
not just the piggy bank kind of saving
but monthly regular savings.

Get used to putting
Some money aside
before you even see it
and years to come,
even if there is
no interest accumulated
it's a nice little nest egg!

Go on, do the calculation!
Save $20 a month
Every month
for the next 20 years
that's $4,800.

That's before
we talk interest.
Do a few more of these, and hey,
you have a little
extra every year!

Nothing to shout about
but nothing
to sniff at either!

Now we can consider
Do I want to live till 85....
With money no issue
Ticker still a-ticking
Butt still a-swaying
Grey cells still a-clicking....

Yeah, it could be taken
into consideration
God willing...
