MISERABLE!!!!!

I am feeling so lousily miserable
It's depressing even trying
to analyse it..

Here I was, telling everyone
I was pleased to have the weekend
All to myself
That I would not have the
empty nest syndrome

Yet, suddenly
I felt really really...
aimless

Wierd huh?

You see I still can't believe
that I am actually feeling the
Pangs of coming back to
an empty home

I think I am quite ok with it...
Perhaps it was because
I received my exam results
and found out
that I have to retake
one of the subjects that
totally deflated me today.

Yes, I think I was deflated
more than miserable.

I came away from the exam
thinking I managed to grasp
the principles of what we learnt
and that I had applied it appropriately

Obviously not

I hate to have to retake
as well as studying
for the 2 new modules
on top of the course work
& assignments

ARRRGGGGHHHHHHH!!!

Then I realised that
I don't have anyone at home
to talk it over with.....

All these kinda overshadowed
the fact that I passed
and did quite well for the
other subject

Isn't it strange that
we always seem to focus on
the negatives -
to try to rectify them
rather than
rejoicing in
what one has achieved?

Yes I am pleased with
what I have achieved...

I will get over the
misery of failing the other
& move on to face
the re-take...
& the other assignments
& exams.....

Bring it on!

My girls took me to this
Real fancy restaurant
on Sunday.
I was told to dress up
and to wait for them to
bring me out
in the evening.

So we all dressed up
Got a cab
and went all the way
to town.

We went to this real fancy
place where i had wanted to
take the girls there
as a special treat
and ended up the girls
giving me a treat instead.

Lovely ambience
Wonderful food
with a price tag to match.

I feel the pain
of the cost
but more so
I was humbled
by my children's
loving act....

My baby girls are
really growing up!

My recent 'twisted' event
helped me to observe
somethings I might not
have the opportunity to otherwise...

I was waiting for a cab
after seeing the doc.
To go to get an x-ray done
for that wretched ankle of mine
as the doc wanted to rule out
"compression fracture"

So I stood at the road side
walking stick and all
waiting for a cab...
And waited I did....

I noticed a few people
who started to walk past
to get in front of me
and yup you got it...
They started flagging
for a taxi...

It would have been
more bearable had it not been
near noon and I was still in pain

Then, a scraggly old man approached me
and suggested I crossed the lane
to catch cabs coming out from the car park
He stood in the middle of the road
So that vehicles would stop
to let me waddle across

I asked him if he was
waiting for a cab like I was...
He said in his croaky voice
that he had 'nothing to do'
Saw how long I had waited
& decided to help....

What a guy, man
what a guy!

Then, even as we were trying to
catch the attention of any cabs
coming at all directions,
none stopping,
a lady of Indian origin
(no offense people, just stating facts)
stood couple of steps behind me,
in the shade, near the curb...

and,
would you believe it,
tried to flag a cab
that was coming out of the car park

I kid you not

That was the last straw....
I turned and asked her
Would she have liked it
If I did the same to her
Given that I have been
trying to get
a blinking cab
for that much longer
Putting aside the fact that
I was in 'need'?

Her answer?
"Oh sorry sorry, i didn't see you!!!"
I mean..... o.0"
Whatever la....
I was too stunned for words

That cab was on call, so
was available to neither of us.

Thankfully, the kindness of
the old man paid off....
He flagged down a cab for me

Help comes in different forms
Angels in different shapes and sizes
& they don't always necessarily
come in suits or decent clothing....

God is good!
