Once was lost but now found
We human beings r strange. Very strange indeed. When a scrawny mangy kitten was brought home about 2 years ago, it was made clear one was not pleased. It didn't help that this thing meows constantly, totally 2nd child syndrome And claws the furniture to shreds. His saving grace? He loved cuddling up to me to sleep. As in, really snuggling right up to share my pillow. In time, this scrawny little thing Grew into a hefty furball And sharing a pillow Resulted in me having a stiff neck. He clawed, he chewed, he broke a bottle of whiskey And sent my asthma off the roof. Last Friday we noticed He'd gone missing Thus began the search, Walking up and down The whole block, Floor by floor. The slightest meow sent me hurrying over to the source Disappointed to find It was not the one we sought. The anguish of losing him Surprised myself and I prayed he had found A better home that didn't mind His many sins. Baby no. 2 found him Early Monday morn At a god-forsaken hr of 4am. A constant meowing Drove her to look for this source of noise Only to find him hiding among some pot plants 8 levels down. He was once lost & now found Somehow we don't seem To mind the whiny wailing 2nd child attention seeking Furball. We're just glad he's home... We missed him....
